# Add New Category

To add a new product category from the Catalog page

1. Select Categories > **Add New Category**.
2. On the Add New Category page, add the following fields:
   1. **Name**
   2. **Description**: This will appear under the category name on public catalog pages.
   3. Avatax Code
   4. UNSPSC
3. You can also select an image or enter a thumbnail URL.
4. Select the **Save** button.
