Add Group

Add a group here.

Go to Customers > Customer Groups > Add Group Here you will be able to add a group one by one. Required fields will be outlined in red.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION: Group settings override customer account settings. If a user is added to a group they will adopt the group settings for the like fields on the Customer Account regardless of what has been entered on the Customer Account.

Field Descriptions

  • Group Name (Required): This is the only required field for a group. This can be pretty much anything you want to define the group. It can be alpha, numeric, or both.

  • Parent Group: Click Change Group to bring up the Group Modal. This will allow you to put a parent group over the top of a group you are creating. This is often used for multi-level approvals or for by a procurement specialist who approves for multiple sub-groups.

  • Punchout ID: This is usually an account number or other unique ID that routes the session to the correct account on your vendors side. Important Consideration: Group settings override customer account settings. If a user is added to a group they will adopt the group settings for the like fields on the Customer Account regardless of what has been entered on the Customer Account.

  • Shared Secret: This is a shared password used to authenticate the session between you and your vendor. Important Consideration: Group settings override customer account settings.   • Terms: Enter the payment terms for this customer here. This is an open field but most accounting systems accept things like Net 30 or N30 or Credit Card or CC for example. If a user is added to a group they will adopt the group settings for the like fields on the Customer Account regardless of what has been entered on the Customer Account.

  • Authorized Emails: You can use this field to set up authorized emails or domains for adding group registration to your site. This will allow you to market to a group of individuals or an organization and allow them to register and be verified. By doing this a customer will be added to the proper group with the proper settings for that group when they register to shop on your site.

  • Group Invite Code: This is a code that can be given to potential end users to be used during registration to add them to a group. This will allow you to market to a group of individuals or an organization and allow them to register and be verified using a Group Invite Code. By doing this a customer will be added to the proper group with the proper settings for that group when they register to shop on your site.

  • Order Prefix: This is another open field where you can add a specific alpha or numeric or both prefix to the order ID's for this customer. For example say you sell to a company with multiple users called the XYZ company. You can put XYX in this field and do the same for all users you setup from the XYZ company. This will allow you to sort, report, etc using the prefix as a unique field. Important Consideration: Group settings override customer account settings.   • Group Registration: Options here are Active or Inactive. Inactive is selected by default. Changing to active turns group registration on and will use either a Group Invite Code or Authorized Email to verify the end user and add them to the correct group.

  • Price Sheet: Select the Price Sheet used for this group. Important Consideration: Group settings override customer account settings. If a user is added to a group they will adopt the group settings for the like fields on the Customer Account regardless of what has been entered on the Customer Account.

  • Shipping Mode: Select a shipping mode for this group. Shipping modes can be defined in the Shipping section of the VendorFuel admin console. Important Consideration: Group settings override customer account settings. Click this button to Add a New Group or to Save your Edits to an existing group.
